Application and development of aseptic filling and packaging technology

Abstract: This paper introduces some technical characteristics of aseptic packaging, including the process of aseptic filling and packaging, packaging materials, horizontal and vertical sealing in mechanical structure, the formation of sterile environment and the development trend of sterile packaging technology

key words: aseptic packaging; Longitudinal seal; Transverse seal; Hydrogen peroxide kills bacteria

modern lifestyle is increasingly affecting people's eating habits. People are interested in all packaged soft drinks "I haven't heard that companies are interested in developing this product because they are more suitable for modern busy lifestyles. Manufacturers also continue to innovate. They bring new products to the market. These new products are very sensitive to possible microorganisms, easy to cause pollution problems, and bring changes in color and taste. Traditionally, the solution to these problems has been to use hot filling process to heat products and packaging But heat-resistant bottles are expensive, and the high temperature also makes the product lose its flavor and color

the emergence of aseptic filling has brought a new solution. The product is pasteurized instantly, the bottle is disinfected by chemical method, and remains aseptic until the packaging is completed

the aseptic packaging process is shown in Figure 1:

the aseptic packaging system has various forms, but its essence lies in the different forms of packaging containers, the different packaging materials and whether it is preformed before filling. This paper mainly introduces the aseptic paper packaging system

1. Packaging material of sterile paper packaging system

sterile paper packaging is widely used in liquid dairy products. Processing of plant protein drinks, fruit juice drinks, alcohol products and drinking water

the packaging material is usually covered with polyethylene paperboard inside and outside. This packaging material can effectively block the liquid penetration and seal the inner and outer surfaces. In order to prolong the shelf life of the product, an oxygen barrier should be added to the packaging material, which usually needs to be compounded with a thin layer of aluminum foil

2. Characteristics of aseptic packaging system

paper roll forming packaging system is the most widely used packaging system at present. The packaging materials are continuously supplied to the packaging machine by paper roll and filled, sealed and cut through a series of forming processes

as shown in Figure 2,

2.1 longitudinal and transverse sealing structure of sterile packaging system

packaging materials rise to the back of the packaging machine after entering the packaging machine from paper roll 1. The longitudinal sealing strip is adhered to one side 2 of the packaging machine by heat sealing. The bonding of longitudinal sealing strip mainly has the following two functions: strengthening the bonding of longitudinal sealing and preventing product leakage. After bonding the longitudinal sealing strip, the wrapping paper is coated with a layer of hydrogen peroxide film through the roller 3, and then the excess hydrogen peroxide is removed by a pair of pressure rollers 4. At this time, the wrapping paper has reached another part of the method, which is to make full use of our extensive understanding of the automobile market, then move downward, form a paper cylinder through the longitudinal seal heater 5 and guide wheel 6, evaporate the residual hydrogen peroxide through the heater 7, and then the product begins to be filled. The liquid level 8 of the product is always controlled below the horizontal sealing liquid level. He estimates that about 1/3 of the company's business comes from FRP Bridge, continuously pulling the packaging paper through the packaging machine, and the products also continuously enter the packaging machine

cross sealing is completed in two steps, namely bonding and cutting. Effective bonding requires two major factors, temperature and pressure. The temperature during sealing is generated by inductive heating, which clamps the cylindrical paper cylinder through the clamping claw. In this way, the paper tube becomes a rectangle. The product is extruded through the pressure of the clamping claw in the sealing area. The U-shaped metal ring in the clamping claw is connected with high-frequency current. The high-frequency current forms a reverse inductive current in the aluminum foil layer of the packaging paper, so as to heat the aluminum foil and transfer the heat to the inner polyethylene to melt it. Under the action of jaw pressure, the polyethylene cools rapidly at the same time, solidifying the melted polyethylene and completing the sealing. After sealing, the cutter in the clamping claw cuts the package in the sealing area 9

product is injected into the paper tube through the filling pipe, and the lower end of the product is 10 below the liquid level of the product, so that the foam formation can be effectively prevented. After pouring and sealing, the package passes through the terminal shaper, bending, folding and bonding the edges and corners of the top and bottom respectively to form 11
